Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

Please read these terms carefully. They set out the rules for using BriefAssist and what you can expect from us.

1. The service

BriefAssist is an AI-assisted web application that helps recruiters turn résumés and job descriptions into structured candidate briefs. Briefs can be edited, regenerated section by section, approved and exported. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Contact us at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

3. Plans and pricing

BriefAssist is offered on the following monthly plans:

  • Solo — $39 per month, 25 briefs per month.
  • Agency — $149 per month, 150 briefs per month.
  • Firm — $349 per month, 500 briefs per month.

4. Free briefs and 14-day free trial

New accounts include a small number of free briefs that can be used without a payment card. Every paid plan also starts with a 14-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged; otherwise your subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial.

5. Billing, renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Plan changes are prorated.

6. Usage limits (hard quota, no overage)

Each plan includes a fixed monthly brief allowance. This is a hard limit: once you reach it, you cannot generate further briefs until your next billing cycle begins or you upgrade to a higher plan. We do not charge overage fees.

7. Acceptable use

  • Only upload résumés and other candidate data you have a lawful right to process.
  • Do not use the service to make automated hiring decisions without human review.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
  • Do not resell or share your account outside the seats included in your plan.

8. AI output disclaimer

Briefs are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, omissions or misinterpretations. All output is a draft for recruiter review. BriefAssist does not make hiring or rejection recommendations, and you remain solely responsible for verifying content and for any decisions made using it. Do not share a brief with a client or candidate until you have reviewed and approved it.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you upload and the briefs you create. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BriefAssist will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these terms from time to time and will notify account holders of significant changes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. You may stop using the service and close your account at any time.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected].
